Coaching Agreement

Welcome!

I have positive expectations for a coaching relationship that helps you to create the life YOU want to live.  To partner together professionally, I want you to be familiar with the following guidelines.

Terms of Coaching:

I invite you to think of Coaching as a process.  Many people create change for themselves in a short time.  However, to refine and sustain the change takes several months.  Although not binding, I would ask that you expect our Coaching relationship to last at least three months.

Competency:

I am a board certified coach trained by the Institute for Life Coach Training (https://www.lifecoachtraining.com//) which is accredited by the Center for Credentialing and Education (https://www.cce-global.org) and the International Coaching Federation (https://coachingfederation.org). As a member of the International Coaching Federation, I adhere to the Code of Ethics: https://coachfederation.org/app/uploads/2020/01/ICF-Code-of-Ethics_final_Nov12.pdf

Additionally, I am an ordained minister endorsed for chaplaincy by American Baptist Churches, USA,  and a Board-Certified Chaplain (Association of Professional Chaplains https://www.professionalchaplains.org ) I have a PhD in psychology and previously worked as a therapist with families with adjudicated child abuse.

Fees:

  • The initial 30-minute session is complimentary

  • My coaching fee is payable on this website

  • My fee is $100 per one-hour session.

  • Discounts are available if you choose to contract for bundles of sessions in advance.

  • Please give me a few weeks’ notice if you’re planning to discontinue coaching.

Procedure:

  • I normally meet via Zoom, although we can also use FaceTime or Google Meet, or meet via telephone if you prefer. I’ll send you a link before our sessions.

  • Meetings are generally held once a week for an hour each time.

  • Barring a critical emergency, please give me at least a 24-hour notice of any changes to our scheduling. No shows are charged the full rate.

Problems:

  • If I ever say or do anything that upsets you or doesn't feel right (and I most likely will), please bring it to my attention so that we can resolve it as soon as possible.  My objective is to have a coaching relationship that is fully open, honest, real and trusting in our communication styles.

  • We should both realize that communication always involves challenges, so we give each other plenty of latitude, and promptly ask for clarification if there is a mis-connection.

I understand that coaching is not to be used as a substitute for professional advice by legal, medical, financial, business, or other qualified professionals.  I will seek independent professional guidance for legal, medical, financial, business, psychological, or other matters.  I understand that all decisions in these areas are exclusively mine and I acknowledge that my decisions and my actions regarding them are my sole responsibility. I understand that coaching is a personal growth profession, not psychotherapy or counseling. Everything you share is strictly confidential, except with your permission or as required by law.

By booking a session, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the above.
